Overview
Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, standing at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) above sea level. Located in northern Tanzania, near the border with Kenya, Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano with three main volcanic cones: Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. It is renowned for its snow-capped peak, dramatic ecological zones—from tropical rainforest to alpine desert—and stunning views. Unlike many high mountains, Kilimanjaro can be climbed without technical mountaineering skills, making it one of the world’s most popular trekking destinations. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a symbol of adventure and endurance.
